The Sculpture Garden at the Pickford Gallery is half an acre of live family garden, where the planting provides the backdrop for and complement to Jenny Pickford’s sinuous metalwork creations.

Inspired by the spirit of nature and the elegant forms that it produces as a matter of course, Jenny Pickford’s work offers a commentary on how we perceive the world about us. Her sculptures take an apparently unpromising material, hard and unyielding, and forges it into works of art with a genuinely softer, more feminine aesthetic. Yes, it’s hard metal; but it is worked into graceful even sensual forms.
